Hear Aissata Cisse, Environmental Manager for Georgia-Pacific share practical insights, advice and tips for tackling the emerging risks and operational challenges of EHS management in manufacturing.

During last week’s Coffee and Compliance, we hosted Aissata Cisse, the Environmental Manager at Georgia Pacific to share her professional experience and career perspective with us.

Prior to entering the Environmental Health and Safety field, Aissata received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Environmental Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. In her academic career, Aissata gained valuable skills that translate well into her current role today, including experience with water resource management as well as understanding environmental regulations such as SPCC, SWPPP, and Air permitting.

With her technical background as an Environmental Specialist as Georgia Pacific, Aissata utilizes her current managerial role to track trends and results in the environmental program, interpret ever changing rules and regulations, and help educate personnel on existing compliance obligations.

Aissata recommended a few helpful tips to assist in deciphering and staying on top of regulatory updates, including signing up for state and federal program newsletters, participating in webinars and classes offered by local professional EHS groups, and joining professional organizations to gain insight in the field.
