Understanding Single Sign-On and Automatic User Provisioning
What is Single Sign-On?
Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication method that allows you to access multiple applications with one set of login credentials.
How Can SSO Benefit my Organisation?
If you are part of a medium to large organization, it can ease the onboarding and off-boarding process by reducing the number of login credentials your team members need to memorize. SSO can also improve your organization's compliance by making it easier for your team to log into Mapistry to complete forms and tasks. From a security standpoint, it is also easier to enforce password length policies and watch who has access to different apps. Automatic User Provisioning (now available!) will reduce the amount of time spent adding users into Mapistry and cut down on onboarding time overall.
SSO is now available on mobile, allowing users to experience seamless onboarding. You can learn more about using SSO on mobile in our blog post.
Note: New users who have SSO activated will need to initiate a login via the web app before being able to access the mobile app.
What is Automatic User Provisioning?
Automatic User Provisioning allows an organization to automatically manage their users, quickly and seamlessly adding them to individual site dashboards. You can find more information on AUP in our blog post.
