The keynote! Thursday, at 10:25 am Dr. Allen Davis, PE will be presenting about the evolving complexities of industrial stormwater. Dr. Davis will be discussing the proliferation of change occurring in both municipal and industrial stormwater management. The landscape of stormwater is evolving rapidly. As data becomes more comprehensive, regulations and permits will follow suit to account for better pollution mitigation and hopefully, prevention. The trend of better water quality data is mirrored by continual improvement in stormwater engineering or treating stormwater to prevent pollution. Dr. Allen Davis is on the Board of the National Committee Improving the Next-Generation EPA Multi-Sector General Permit for Industrial Stormwater Discharges, his keynote address will discuss the challenges and the science behind them-it’s sure to be informative!
On Friday, make sure to attend the EPA Compliance & Enforcement Perspective: Permits & Risks Factor for Companies presentation at 11:00 AM. The Trump Administration has brought a lot of changes to the EPA. Attorney-advisor to US EPA Region 9 Office of Enforcement Kimberly Wells and Compliance and Enforcement Officer, Lawrence Torres will be discussing the evolving role of the EPA in industrial stormwater compliance. - Berkeley is located across the bay from San Francisco! Both Berkeley and the Summit are easily accessible via public transportation — don’t worry about renting a car! Additionally, Lyft and Uber are great options from the Airport and around Berkeley.
- If you are coming from out of town, you can fly into Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) and take the subway (BART) into Berkeley. Get off BART at the Downtown Berkeley stop, it is directly next to the Shattuck Hotel and the conference center! (Easy peasy)
