Environmental Compliance Manager – Stormwater Focused

We are seeking to add an environmental engineer with 2+ years of experience to our Environmental Services Team. As a member of the Environmental Services Team, you’ll work with your fellow team members to craft simple yet effective compliance programs for enterprise-level Environmental Managers. As part of the Environmental Services Team, you should enjoy operating in a collaborative and dynamic environment while being able to manage your own tasks and priorities. Your primary goal will be to assist industrial facilities across the U.S. in complying with the extensive set of environmental regulations related to stormwater, hazardous materials, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC). Your solutions will directly impact the environment by making it easier and more affordable for industrial facilities to comply with regulations.

Requirements for this position include:

  • B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of California Industrial General Permit stormwater regulations
  • Experience writing technical reports
  • Experience communicating with clients or project stakeholders

It would be even better if you also had the following:

  • M.S.in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • E.I.T. or Professional Engineering license
  • QISP certification
  • Experience managing facility environmental compliance programs
  • Expertise in California stormwater regulations

As a member of the Mapistry team, you will have a diverse set of daily tasks that will likely include:

  • Regularly communicate with clients through site visits, phone conversations, and emails
  • Travel to client sites to conduct site audits, understand their issues, and offer solutions
  • Manage your own set of clients and routinely check-in with them
  • Write technical reports, memos, and other plans related to compliance programs
  • Collaborate with other Environmental Compliance Managers to brainstorm creative solutions for compliance
  • Answer client questions on stormwater best practices, BMPs, regulatory issues, and how-to-use Mapistry software
  • Conduct in-person and online training on Mapistry software and other environmental topics (e.g. stormwater team training)
  • Participate in educating and engaging clients by writing blog posts and ebooks on environmental topics
  • Progress in your career by continually learning on the job and seeking out professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in the development of training content for Mapistry’s e-learning platform
  • Aid in the software development process by identifying software bugs and tracking feature requests
